About the Program
The Multimedia Arts degree is a four-year program for creatives in animation, graphic design, web media, film, and photography. It blends theory and hands-on training using industry-standard software, covering animation, graphic design, web development, film production, and photography. The program cultivates a deep appreciation for multimedia forms, equipping graduates with the skills and adaptability for success in the dynamic field of multimedia arts.
Program Educational Objectives
Three to five years after graduation, the graduates are expected to:
- Demonstrate competency in applying theories and skills in multimedia arts, multimedia management, research and multimedia laws and ethics with the highest professional attitude and ethics, meeting the national and international demands of the industry;
- Exhibit leadership skills, as well as write and produce high-quality digitized multimedia materials as part of a creative team to promote service, self-sufficiency, and independence in the community;
- Demonstrate basic mastery, knowledge and skills in handling current multimedia equipment, as well as adapt to the subsequent changes in the technology enhancing critical thinking, creativity, and quality-laden outputs;
- Show capability in performing duties and responsibilities as globally competitive multimedia professionals endowed with excellence, resiliency and integrity.
Student Outcomes
By the time of graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:
- Design multimedia projects creatively, based on a knowledge of multimedia and communication theories, aesthetic principles and approaches.
- Critically evaluate and articulate the societal, aesthetic, communicative and ethical value of a multimedia project based on global trends and issues in multimedia technologies, design and practice.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the visual arts required in the production of multimedia projects.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in the use of appropriate technologies required in the production of multimedia projects.
- Demonstrate professionalism and ethical behavior in the practice of multimedia production in the creative industries and in community contexts.
- Collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
