UM DELEGATES CONCLUDE INTERNATIONAL ERASMUS+ STAFF WEEK 2025

The two UM delegates to the International Erasmus+ Staff Week 2025 at the Daugavpils University in Latvia officially concluded their one-week training and networking activities last Friday, May 16.

Dr. Conrado B. Panerio Jr of the Research and Publication Office, and Engr. Randy Angelia of the College of Engineering Education participated in the various week-long professional training and intercultural activities along with the representatives from 14 other Higher Education Institutions from 12 countries.

Among the activities that Dr. Panerio and Engr. Angelia participated in were the engaging workshop on “Creating AI-Powered Micro-Teaching Content,” networking meetings and parallel discussions with counterparts from different universities, and cultural tours within the city.

On the first day, the participants were formally welcomed by Prof. Arvīds Barševskis, Rector of Daugavpils University, and Līvija Jankovska, Chairperson of the Committee on Education and Culture in Daugavpils Municipality, who both emphasized the vital role of international collaboration in education and regional development.

The successful launch of the Erasmus+ Staff Week not only highlighted Daugavpils University’s leadership in international education but also aligned with broader educational movements that seek to blend tradition, innovation, and cultural identity—values familiar to those promoting ethnomathematics and indigenous knowledge in modern curricula.
