UMasenso Hub Strengthens Startup Ecosystem through CEO Connect Incubation Program

The UMasenso Hub – University of Mindanao Technology Business Incubator (UM-TBI) successfully concluded "Tubo Gabay: UMasenso Hub CEO Connect," a two-day incubation initiative under its 5th Month Incubation Program, reaffirming its commitment to equipping startups with the knowledge, mentorship, and industry connections needed to thrive in the innovation landscape. Through a series of expert-led discussions, the program provided aspiring entrepreneurs with practical insights on business development, leadership, and sustainable enterprise creation.

The program officially commenced on June 6, 2026, through a virtual session via Google Meet. The morning session featured Mr. Paulo Rodriguez, Chief Executive Officer of Aquila Softwares Corporation, who, together with the TanUM Nanotech Solutions incubatee, shared valuable perspectives on harnessing technology to drive business growth, validating innovative ideas, developing scalable digital solutions, and building sustainable startup models. In the afternoon, Mr. Lord Dalinas, Chief Executive Officer of Custard Apple Outsourcing, joined the RLG Voltworks and Spark incubatees in discussing the realities of entrepreneurship, leadership, outsourcing opportunities, client engagement, and the importance of adaptability, continuous learning, and strategic decision-making in sustaining business success.

The second leg of the program was held on June 22, 2026, at the Innovation Complex–TBI Working Area, where Mr. Rodriguez facilitated an interactive face-to-face mentoring session with all UMasenso Hub incubatees. The discussions centered on startup leadership, innovation management, investor readiness, and strategies for building enterprises that generate both economic value and positive social impact. The engaging exchange of ideas and experiences inspired participants to refine their ventures while strengthening their confidence to navigate the entrepreneurial journey.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), the CEO Connect program underscored the importance of collaboration, innovation, and lifelong learning in cultivating resilient startup communities. By bringing together industry leaders and emerging entrepreneurs, the initiative reinforced UMasenso Hub's role as a catalyst for technology-driven innovation and enterprise development.

The UMasenso Hub expressed its sincere appreciation to Mr. Paulo Rodriguez and Mr. Lord Dalinas for generously sharing their expertise, entrepreneurial experiences, and invaluable mentorship. As the incubator continues to nurture innovators and changemakers, it remains steadfast in its mission of transforming promising ideas into impactful ventures that contribute to regional economic growth and a stronger Philippine innovation ecosystem.
