UM's Sustainability Pledge

"Rooted in Mindanao. Driven by Sustainability."

At the University of Mindanao, sustainability is more than a vision—it is part of how we educate, innovate, and serve. As the largest private, non-sectarian university in Mindanao, UM is committed to creating sustainable impact through quality, affordable, and accessible education for all.

We pledge to build a university that integrates sustainability into instruction, research, extension, production, and campus operations. Guided by excellence, innovation, integrity, and teamwork, we continuously strengthen programs and practices that promote environmental stewardship, climate resilience, responsible resource management, biodiversity conservation, and community empowerment.

UM remains committed to developing research-driven and community-centered solutions that respond to the needs of Mindanao and the global community. Through strong partnerships, sustainable campus initiatives, and transformative learning experiences, we aim to produce future-ready graduates who will lead positive change with competence, compassion, and responsibility.

As one UM community, we move forward with a shared commitment to create greener campuses, resilient communities, and lasting sustainable impact for present and future generations.
