UM Chorale Represents the Philippines in Two Major International Competitions

With deep pride, the University of Mindanao Chorale once again raised the Philippine flag high—this time at the Asia Choral Grand Prix in Singapore (July 24) and the World Choral Championship in Taiwan (July 28).
Their participation came after being handpicked through international jury selections, following their victories at the Andrea O. Veneracion Festival (2023) and the Taipei International Choral Competition (2024). These invitations were a resounding vote of confidence from the global choral community.
While only the Grand Prix winners were formally named, the UM Chorale’s heartfelt performances received glowing praise from both Filipino and international audiences—affirming their place on the world stage.
Beyond the competition, the group held concerts in Taipei and Tainan as part of the Taipei International Choral Festival, where they were also featured as one of its official faces. Many audience members, even those unfamiliar with the group, were moved to tears—proof that music knows no language.
More than the pursuit of titles, the UM Chorale’s journey reflects a story of passion, perseverance, and heart. Wherever their music takes them next, they bring not only talent, but also the spirit of the Filipino—believing in the power of art to inspire, to heal, and to unite.
The University of Mindanao community, the people of Davao, and Filipinos everywhere will always be proud of the UM Chorale.
Mabuhay ang UM Chorale. Mabuhay ang Korong Pilipino.
