UM-CHE Wins Medals at 16th Philippine Culinary Cup 2026



UMians performed extraordinarily in the recent 16th 16th Philippine Culinary Cup (PCC) 2026, held at SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Manila, from July 29 to August 1, 2026 in the Wedding Cake, Pasta, and Modern Filipino desserts categories.


The medalists are Jomari Martinez and Geraldine Denopol for the Wedding Cake Display category, Irene Cando for the Pasta category, and Ching Malingin for the Modern Filipino Desserts category. Their achievement reflects their creativity, technical skills, and dedication to excellence, made possible through the guidance of their coaches and mentors.


This was UM-CHE's first participation in the Philippine Culinary Cup after a hiatus, making the achievement even more meaningful. The success marks an important milestone for the College and inspires future hospitality students to pursue excellence, innovation, and global standards in the culinary profession.


The University of Mindanao – College of Hospitality Education (UM-CHE) proudly celebrates the outstanding performance of its Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students as they competed against participants from leading hotels, restaurants, and culinary schools across the country and Southeast Asia, the UM-CHE team brought home four bronze medals in various culinary categories.
