The University of Mindanao's own Norlejan A. Piquit emerged as champion in the recent AccoHuna: Battle of Wits event of the 28th Annual Regional Convention Academic League, organized by the NFJPIA Region XI Council.
AccoHuna covered Financial Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, RFBT and Managerial Advisory Services challenging participants to demonstrate analytical thinking and accuracy under a strict right - minus - wrong scoring system, and out of the 18 institutions who participated, Mr. Piquit is overall champion. He shared that he joined the competition to challenge himself against the region's top accounting students and further prepare for the 2027 CPALE. Through disciplined self-study and consistent practice, he successfully showcased his knowledge, determination, and composure throughout the competition. Mr. Piquit said the experience taught him the importance of precision, focus, and confidence under pressure. He encouraged aspiring competitors to build a strong foundation in accounting and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth.
This achievement reflects the spirit of SDG 4: Quality Education, promoting academic excellence and lifelong learning among future accounting professionals.
The 28th Annual Regional Convention Academic League was held virtually from May 26 to June 7, 2026 through Zoom, Mentimeter, and TikTok.
