University of Mindanao welcomes PNP-RSTU XI for Benchmarking Visit
The University of Mindanao proudly welcomed representatives from the PNP Regional Special Training Unity XI (RSTU XI) for a benchmarking activity held on February 24, 2026, at the UM Main Campus.
The visit was initiated in line with the continued trust of the Philippine National Police Training Service (PNPTS) and aimed at enhancing the quality, effectiveness, and relevance of police training programs. RSTU XI expressed its intent to learn the University’s best practices in academic excellence and institutional systems.
The PNP visiting team comprised seven personnel, headed by PCOL Joselito R. Gallano, Training Manager of RSTU XI. They were welcomed by University officials and academic leaders: Pedro M. Castillo (Vice-President, IPAC), Esterlina Gevera (Deputy Quality Management Representative for Academics, QMO), Michelle Y. Acledan (Director, HRDC), Carmencita E. Vidamo (Head, RAC), Carmelita B. Chavez (Dean, CCJE), Nestor C. Nabe (Asst. Dean, CCJE), and Andre A. Cardenas (Program Head, CCJE).
Through meaningful dialogue and knowledge sharing, both institutions reaffirmed their shared commitment to excellence in training, academic quality, and public service, highlighting the vital role of collaboration between higher education institutions and law enforcement agencies in strengthening professional standards, community impact, and national development, as the University of Mindanao continues its missions to deliver quality education and build strong, purposeful partnerships.
