The University of Mindanao College of Teacher Education (UM-CTE) welcomed five student teachers from Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University (VRU), Thailand, as part of the 11th Batch of the SEA Teacher Project.
On September 22, the five student teachers paid a courtesy call on Dr. Eugenio S. Guhao Jr., Chief Academic Officer of the University of Mindanao, as part of their formal welcome to the University.
The visiting student teachers will spend a month at UM, where they will be deployed to the UM Basic Education Department for classroom observation and teaching. Their exchange will run until October 16, 2026.
The group includes four Early Childhood Education students: Sasiprapa Phuetphian, Kamonchanok Phaisanwan, Vichayaporn Thipparos, and Pridawan Chumchuaong; and English student Chitipol Adam.
Alongside their classroom exposure, the students will take part in cultural activities in Davao City, giving them opportunities to experience the local community and culture during their stay.
The SEA Teacher Project brings together pre-service teachers and teacher education institutions across Southeast Asia through short-term teaching exchanges. It provides student teachers with opportunities to experience another country’s educational setting, classroom practices, and culture as part of their professional preparation.
UM-CTE has participated in the SEA Teacher Project since its 7th Batch and continues its involvement as the program enters its 11th Batch. The College’s participation is part of its continuing internationalization efforts and engagement with teacher education institutions across the ASEAN region.
