About the Program

The BS in Architecture is a comprehensive five-year college program designed for individuals aspiring to pursue a career in architecture. This educational journey equips students with knowledge and skills in planning, designing, and constructing buildings, emphasizing the principles of utility, strength, and aesthetics. The curriculum integrates CHED-mandated general education courses, including technical subjects in Math, Science, and Basic Engineering, alongside professional Architecture courses delivered through a combination of classroom lectures, laboratory classes, and studio design activities.

Program Educational Objectives

Three to five years after graduation, the graduates are expected to:

  1. Demonstrate technical and professional expertise in architecture, related or allied practice.
  2. Gain recognition in the practice of the profession.
  3. Demonstrate receptiveness to new ideas and knowledge through scientific research.
  4. Pursue professional development activities through studies and trainings.
  5. Exemplify social and ethical responsibility in the practice of the profession.

Student Outcomes

By the time of graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:

  1. Demonstrate professional and technical expertise in the practice of architecture.
  2. Effectively communicate architectural ideas in various media such as sketch, model, drawing, and digital as well as in writing and in speech using both English and Filipino.
  3. Ability to effectively work in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
  4. Demonstrate social and ethical responsibility in the architectural profession.
  5. Create architectural solutions by applying knowledge in history, theory, planning, building technology and utilities, structural concepts and professional practice.
  6. Apply concepts and principles from specialized fields and allied disciplines into various architectural problems.
  7. Prepare contract documents, technical reports and other legal documents used in architectural practice adhering to applicable laws, standards and regulations.
  8. Interpret relevant laws, codes, charters and standards of architecture and the built environment.
  9. Apply research methods to address architectural problems.
  10. Use various information and communication technology (ICT) media for architectural solutions, presentation, and techniques in design and construction.
  11. Demonstrate entrepreneurial and business acumen relevant to architecture practice.
  12. Display the management skills of the construction works and building administration.
  13. Participate in the generation of new knowledge such as pioneering concepts and ideas of site and building designs beyond the regular physical and location boundaries and contexts.
