SDG 13: Climate Action
The University of Mindanao, through its Alumni Affairs Office and Community Extension Center, actively contributes to environmental sustainability by initiating tree planting activities in various locations, including Loleng's Mountain Spring Resort and the Lasang areas known for their rich natural landscapes. These initiatives are part of the university’s broader effort to promote ecological balance and environmental awareness, while also engaging alumni in meaningful activities that give back to nature. By planting trees in these areas, UM supports reforestation efforts and biodiversity conservation. In addition to off-campus initiatives, the university ensures that all trees and greenery within its campuses are well cared for and maintained. Landscaping efforts are consistently implemented to preserve the campus's green spaces, which contribute to a more sustainable and welcoming learning environment. Through these actions, UM demonstrates its long-term commitment to environmental preservation and instills a culture of sustainability and responsibility among its students, staff, and alumni.
