Managan Ta Ga! Color Fun Run Dos for a Cause has successful second turn
The success of last year’s Managan Ta Ga first ever fun run echoed into this year’s event as alumni, employees, students, and families enjoyed an active morning last Sunday, Jan. 19 at the UM Matina campus.
Faces painted with fun designs, runners per category eagerly awaited the announcement to take off along the different race points of Ma-a road and back again to the Matina campus open field, where a healthy and filling light breakfast, as well as raffle prizes awaited everybody.
But as with all competitions, the most fleet-footed men and women in the 3k, 5k, and 10k categories were recognized and awarded.
For the men’s 3k category, Roberto Cain took home first place, followed by Jomarie Luayon at second, and Johnney Gil Meder at third place.
For the men’s 5k run, Jomar Echavaria was in first, with Norman Luardo and Dave Gonzaga finishing second and third, respectively. The men’s 10k category saw Fritz Clarence Lantaco at first, Arniez Macaneras at second, and Jorge Esquirida taking third place.
The women’s 3k meanwhile had Jannel Cabiles at first, followed by Lissel Bajenting and Angeline Reponte at second and third, respectively.
The 5k run saw Stacey Caneda at first place, with Arlieny Onso taking second, and Yeltsien Solomon winning third. The women’s 10k meanwhile had a triumphant Charmine Yonson at first, Rosalyn Agana at second, and Queenizza Gulbe at third place.
Managan Ta Ga Color Fun Run Dos for a Cause is spearheaded by the University of Mindanao Alumni Affairs Office in partnership with the UM Alumni Association Incorporated, with the proceeds from the event benefiting the university’s alumni scholars.
