UM is among 4 Region XI schools granted Autonomous Status
The University of Mindanao- Digos branch is granted Autonomous Status for the first time, while UM Tagum branch is granted a Deregulated Status as per Memorandum Circular No. 12, s. 2019 of the Commission on Higher Education.
The Main campus meanwhile also had its Autonomous Status renewed. The university and its branch campuses are among the six higher education institutions coming from Region XI who were granted Autonomous and Deregulated Status. Obtaining such status means that the school has obtained high standards in its practices that warrant complete control over its academic affairs.
