College of Engineering Education studes are UMAP-COIL core member-participants

Two Chemical Engineering students from the university were recently accepted out of 180 applicants across Asia and the Pacific to the UMAP-COIL Program 2020.

Mary Grace Abayon and Ivanbert Damasco are participants in the joint program between UMAP and Kansai University in Japan, where all classes will be conducted online. The seven-week short term program entitled “Striving global citizenry competence in the VUCA world” will take on topics ranging from culture, economics, sustainable development goals, international affairs, international development, and business innovation for a sustainable society, among others.

The course is designed to give students the opportunities to consider global citizenship with regard to key contemporary social issues in international settings, taking international and domestic perspectives.

The official short-term course starts today, July 27, and ends September 15, 2020.

Again, congratulations and best of luck to your exciting online academic journey, Mary Grace and Ivanbert!
