Examination and Grading System

Examination

Periodical Exam

Students take four (4) examinations every term. Examination shall be taken only on scheduled dates except in the College of Law and in the Graduate School. Only Students with valid permits for the specific examination are allowed to take the examination.

Taking the examination at a later date may be allowed upon approval by the Dean after the student presents a valid reason and examination permit which should not be later than seven (7) days after the scheduled examination missed by the student.

Students who miss all three (3) examinations shall be given a grade of 5.0 (failed).

In the undergraduate programs, Comprehensive Exam/Cumulative test takes the place of the final examination.

Grading System

Regular Courses

The Base-20 grading system is implemented starting the first semester of SY 2010-2011, so that the computation of grade shall be based 20 and the passing mark is 75.

Base Zero Computation

Passing Mark of 75 points is the passing mark equivalent to 3.5 GPA with no grade below 60 in any subject area.

Removal Examination - allowed only to those students who obtained 71 to 74 points. If the student passed in the removal examination with no grade below 60 in an
