The University of Mindanao opened B.S. Architecture in the year 1973 making University of Mindanao to offer such. It has also been awarded by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission of Accreditation with Level 2 RA (Reaccreditation). It is led by skilled faculty members who have more than ten years of professional experience either in private practice or government service. They have expertise in urban and regional planning, environmental planning, construction, history and theory of architecture. Most of them have special training and exposure trips to Asia, Europe, and North America.

The college was awarded citations by Professional Regulation Commission for being top performer with a passing rate of more than 50% making it at part with top schools in the country
