Businesses, the public sector, the government, and other organizations existing today are now engaging in ever more complex arrangements and transactions. Risk management has become more important which creates a demand for people who are proficient enough in the field of information technology, trade and commerce, and especially in the accounting profession.  Rapid change is the main characteristic of the environment in which professional accountants work. To meet these global demands, this program intends to train students to become globally-competent, ethical, and truthful professionals especially since the University of Mindanao aims to make its current accounting standards meet the international community’s demands and needs.

Inculcating the knowledge, principles, and especially the values learned from the program can be a very daunting task. The primary aim of the University is to simplify this process for the students while making sure that they meet the rapidly-changing demands of the global economy.

Graduates from this program are highly in-demand today not just here in the Philippines, but all over the world. In almost every establishment, an accountant is needed which makes the profession one of the first choices of every student enrolling in college. Students, after finishing the program can take the CPA Board Examination and engage in public practice, commerce and industry, government service, and even in the academe.
