Academic Planning and Services
The Academic Planning and Services Department headed by Eugenio S. Guhao, DM is primarily charged with the responsibility of assisting the Academic Affairs Division in providing leadership in upgrading quality instruction, research and extension in consonance with the policies and standards of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)and the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Committee on Accreditation (PACUCOA.
It exercises the following functions:
A. Provide leadership in the implementation of academic programs to ensure quality education to students.
B. Provide leadership in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating, programs in instruction, research and extension in the Main and Branches; and
C. Provide assistance to the Office of Academic Affairs on academic programs.
Specifically, the Office of Academic Planning and Services performs the following duties and responsibilities:
A. Plan academic programs to ensure quality teaching learning process in relation to the University's Vision, Mission and Goal;
B. Implement academic programs based on the approved project proposals in coordination with the Deans/Directors/Program Heads;
C. Monitor the implementation of the programs by the Deans/Directors;
D. Discuss with Deans/Directors the accomplishment and evaluation reports submitted by the concerned college/branch;
E. Report to the EVP for Academic Affairs the status and development of the academic programs implemented;
F. Present issues and concerns regarding academic program implementation to the University of Mindanao Academic Council (UMAC; and
G. Perform such other duties and functions as may be authorized by the Office of Academic Affairs and/or duly authorized higher authorities.
