UM signs partnership with Cebu Institute Technology University; opens up academic collabs and study opportunities in engineering and robotics

The University of Mindanao last May 7, 2019 sealed a partnership with Cebu Institute Technology University (CIT-U), in a bid to expand academic studies in engineering and forays into studying robotics, among others.

The signing of the memorandum of agreement was conducted by no less than UM President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Guillermo P. Torres Jr, and CIT-U President Engr. Bernard Nicolas E. Villamor along with senior officials from both schools and UM deans of colleges.

UM and CIT-U share many commonalities as an academic institution, including its strong engineering programs and steadfast commitment to promoting student development, research and collaboration, and opportunities for linkages with other higher education institutions, among others.

This new partnership hopes to spring up many forms of academic collaborations, with an aim to start on engineering and robotics fields of study.

Collaborative meetings by cluster followed shortly after the MoA signing as part of CIT-U’s benchmarking visit.
