UM inks agreement with Southern Leyte State University for local linkages and knowledge sharing

Expansion of local linkages and sharing of best practices both in school and employee management were among the agreements in the recently inked Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Mindanao and Southern Leyte State University (SLSU).

An MOU with local higher education institutions is considered a strategic way for both universities to expand their linkages, strengthen and constantly improve their academic methods through the sharing of best practices,and also serves as a way to create research collaboration.

Attending the signing were officials from SLSU and representing UM President Dr. Guillermo P. Torres Jr were Chief Academic Officer Dr. Eugenio S. Guhao Jr. and SVP for Academic Planning and Services Dr. Ronnie Amorado, who also accompanied the SLSU officials on a tour of the UM Matina campus.

SLSU is a school specializing in agriculture, fisheries, engineering and education courses, among others, and is keen in observing the best practices of UM which led it to be awarded as Best Employer for Mindanao 2018 by the People Management Association of the Philippines, and the Philippine Quality Award 2017 from the national government.
