New MinDA PR Division chief is former UM AVP for Research
The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) recently welcomed to its roster esteemed researcher Dr. Adrian Tamayo as its new Division Chief for Public Relations.
MinDA as a government entity promotes, coordinates, and facilitates the active and extensive participation of all sectors to effect the socioeconomic development of Mindanao.
Prior to working for the government, Dr. Tamayo was in charge the University of Mindanao’s Institute of Popular Opinion (IPO) and also served as the Director for Quantitative Studies, under the guidance of Dr. Ma. Linda Arquiza, Vice President of the Research and Publication Center.
Among the well-known studies conducted by Dr. Tamayo with his team at the IPO include the pulse of Davao citizenry on current events; such as local governance and the city’s leaders, as well as current opinions on the family, religion, and academics, among others.
Dr. Tamayo also served as the program coordinator of the Master of Science in Economics at the UM Professional Schools and served in the faculty of the College of Business Administration.
He is a BS Economics graduate of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP), earning the title as Most Outstanding Graduate for 2004, then later obtained his Master of Science in Economics in 2009, then his doctorate degree in Development and Research Administration, both at USEP; earning a Dean’s Citation at his graduation in 2012.
Dr. Tamayo’s priority order at MinDA is to make federalism, one of the thrusts of President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration, a topic of conversation and research among Filipinos, most especially Mindanawons.
