UM Research team headed to Europe
A team of researchers from the University of Mindanao’s Research and Publication Center (RPC) is set to leave for Europe by June through a grant for research exchange with Erasmus.
The Erasmus Program supported by the European Union and partners with different countries to promote intercultural education, student and faculty, as well as exchange of material and research.
Dr. Ma. Linda Arquiza, vice president for RPC, made the announcement last Monday, March 1 at the Biodiversity forum conducted at the AVR of UM Matina campus.
The research team will leave for Latvia by June to learn other research methods utilized by other universities there, and have expeditions to explore the various environments and unique ecosystems in their host country.
As part of the faculty exchange, UM will also serve as host to 14 Latvian scientists, said Dr. Arquiza, and added the foreign group will arrive on March 18 and will stay until the end of the month.
Apart from learning about UM and the city, the Latvian scientists will also conduct lectures with UM’s BS Biology program.
