UM gets top national spots in Sept. 2017 LET for Secondary Level

Students of t he University of Mindanao once again prove their mettle after producing placing in the top spots in the September 2017 Licensure Examination for Teachers (Secondary Level).

Earning the top spot is Rhoy Omega, with a score of 93.80% and in second place is Brian Ba-an with 92. 60%.

Sharing seventh place are Caryl James Faith Abrenica and Ken Clyde Longos from UM Tagum campus, and Shamile Josephine Arobo, all with a score of 91.60%.

The five UMians bested 49, 626 examinees who passed the LET examinations for the secondary level.

The Professional Regulation Commission announced on their website that a total of 107, 020 took the secondary level LET examinations.

Omega, Ba-an, Abrenica, Longos, and Arobo join the many topnotchers the College of Teacher Education has produced, most recently  Marian Kaye Gallego,  Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Major in Mathematics who placed first in the March 2017 LET examinations with a score of 92.80%.

Six other students also held places in the top 10 in the March 2017 LET examinations, namely  Gerlie Tampos Albia of UM-Digos (ranked fifth with a score of 91.40%); Rosa Mae Asaytona Salazar and Chrestine Bariquit Torrejos, both at 6th place with a score of 91.20%; Leslae Kay Cataytay Mantilla (7th place with a score of 91.00%); Kristine Clarrisse Cabante Planas ( 8th place with 90.60%); and Mark John Pepito (9th place with a score of 90.40%).

The city council last June commended UM for producing the most number of topnotchers through a resolution by Councilor Pilar Braga, chairperson for the committee on education, science and technology, and arts and culture.
