College of Engineering Education receives PTC Accreditation Certificates

The College of Engineering Education of recently received their certificates of accreditation from the Philippine Technological Council (PTC) for its Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering programs.

The PTC is composed of engineering organizations in the country and its Accreditation and Certification Board for Engineering and Technology – Engineering Accreditation Commission (ACBET- EAC) is the only local accrediting body for engineering programs recognized by the Commission on Higher Education.

The accredited UM Engineering programs are now also internationally recognized as PTC is the only Philippine signatory to the Washington Accord, which is the international organization that recognizes the engineering programs accredited by its members and signatories, and recommends the graduates of the said accredited programs to other bodies as having met the international standards of academic requirement for practicing engineering.

Present at the awarding of the certificates were no less than PTC President Engr. Fedrico Monsada and ACBET Vice Chair for Accreditation Engr. Romulo Agatep, and UM Chief Academic Officer Pedro B. San Jose.
