UMian CPA Board Exam placer receives cash gift
Officials from the University of Mindanao led by school President Dr. Guillermo P. Torres Jr. awarded the cash gift of P 50, 000 to May 2017 CPA Board Exam ninth placer Neil Andre M. Buladaco.
Buladaco scored 90.33 in the examinations, besting thousands of other hopefuls across the country to have a place in the Top 10.
According to the Professional Regulation Commission in an announcement on their website, 3,389 out of 9,645 hopefuls passed the examination given by the Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Iloilo, Legazpi, Tacloban and Davao.
UM achieved a passing performance of 78.79% for first time takers, and an overall performance rating of 62.75%, compared to the national average passing rate of 35.14%.
Dr. Torres presented the cash gift to Buladaco last Tuesday, June 20, accompanied by EVP for Academic Affairs Pedro B. San Jose, Dean of College- UM Tagum Gina Israel, Branch Director Evelyn Saludes, and Department Chair for Accounting Education Janet Matuguinas.
Buladaco also graduated summa cum laude from the University.
Dr. Torres pledged the cash gifts to those who would top, or have a place, in the various licensure examinations in the country as the University’s recognition of the hard work, time, and dedication the students invested to be able to excel in the licensure examination. Their achievement brings honor not only to them and their families, but to the University as well.
